UNI police reported that 27-year-old Courtney Elsbernd of Waterloo was found dead in her vehicle in a remote UNI parking lot on Sunday, Nov. 10.

According to KWWL News, Elsbernd had last been seen on Thursday, Nov. 7 in Waterloo. No foul play is suspected in Elsbernd’s death.

“The University is deeply saddened by the news of Courtney’s passing and extends condolences to her family,” the UNI administration wrote in a campus email sent on Monday, Nov. 11.
