NISG confirms lower cabinet

Last Wednesday, Sept. 26, Northern Iowa Student Government (NISG) confirmed 14 students to the lower cabinet and reported that two Senate seats have been vacated.
The following students were confirmed to their positions by a vote of 17-0-0: Shelby Schroeder as lower cabinet director of alumnus relations, Connor Dunsbergen as lower cabinet director of fraternity and sorority life, Akanksha Sahni as lower cabinet director of international student affiars, Alex Carlson as lower cabinet director of disability services, Alex Hutchins as lower cabinet director of LGBT* affairs, Maria Renken as lower cabinet director of residence, Denise Kassis as lower cabinet director of transfer student affiars, Hugh Zehr as lower cabinet director of sustainability, Caitlyn Walte as lower cabinet director of veteran and military services, Sarah Rasing as lower cabinet director of mental health and Nikia Watson as lower cabinet director of first year students.
Ben Knaak was confirmed as lower cabinet director of graduate student life 16-0-1. Mahila Brown was confirmed as deputy speaker by a vote of 15-0-2.
Cole Passick was confirmed as chief justice of the NISG Supreme Court 16-0-1.
Speaker of the Senate Jacob Levang stated that two Senate seats have been newly vacated due to one Senator resigning and the removal of another. One available seat is in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the other is in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences (CHAS).
