Corrections
The Northern Iowan aims to report the truth and be accurate in its reporting of news events. If you believe you have discovered an error, please contact Executive Editor Bailey Klinkhammer at [email protected]. If there is a claim that a story is inaccurate, we will investigate and, if needed, publish a correction.
Minor corrections such as grammatical or typographical errors will be corrected in the online edition without an update or editor’s note.
More substantial corrections will be made with a published correction and an update or editor’s note appended to the online version of the article.
There may be situations where an article needs to be updated to reflect significant new information from the original publication date, especially in criminal or civil court cases (e.g., charges dropped, subject acquitted, record expunged).
Take-down or “un-publish” requests
Online archives are a part of the institutional memory of the newspaper, a historical record of our community, and an expression of First Amendment rights. The Northern Iowan’s editorial policy is to not “un-publish,” take down, or remove published articles from our website, or redact names.
