I am a 2026 communication and media major with a digital journalism minor, and have been writing for the NI since October 2023. I have loved every second of my involvement with this organization, and have been so lucky to hold an editorial position within the NI. I was the campus life editor for Fall ’24, and was granted the opportunity to be managing editor for Spring ’25. I’ve enjoyed writing basic campus news stories, and the opportunities to interview folks such as Paula Poundstone. Outside of the NI, I hang out with friends, spend money on my cat and watch various comedy (and rom-com) movies.

After four months of working as campus life editor, I recieved the opportunity to expand my resposiblities at the NI. This organization is so important for student journalists who wish to work in media positions after they graduate.

After the collapse of the Commons Ballroom ceiling, the voting location was changed to the Georgian Lounge. Many of these students registered to vote today, as Iowa is one of a handful of states that allows same-day registration.

Panther Mayhem was originally called the Panther Pep Crew when the group first emerged in 2009. The name Panther Mayhem came about eight years later in 2017. When COVID-19 hit, Panther Mayhem was greatly affected. After a hiatus, Panther Mayhem came back to UNI at the start of the fall 2023 season.
